The TM-2 XLT seem like good boots but there are little quirks that you won't realize until you get them home or put some miles in them. The half gator is hard to zip up when your foot is in the boot, I can't seem to get it zipped all the way up regardless of how tight I make the boot. The laces are pretty much trash after one day due to the cheap quality and close proximity to Velcro (they snag and fray horribly bad). The power strap on the liner doesn't seem to do much and adds excess bulk when lacing up the boot. Even though there is a heel welt, I wouldn't recommend these with semi auto crampons since the welt is soft rubber. It seems better suited for strap crampons but it's hard finding any that fit the bulk of the boot. Lastly is partially my fault however I skinned 8miles into a hut last weekend and have silver dollar size blisters on my heels from the "J bar" heel hold system. I didn't heat mold them because I figured they'd pack out on a long tour, however after mile 1 I felt hot spots forming. The boot seems like it'll last and be relatively durable once I change out the laces, but I'm pretty surprised how over built the boot is for how it can actually perform.

3rd best pair of thirtytwo boots I've bought for all mountain and will keep using them for explorations.
Horrible break in, but its the best boot I've worn in memory. From touring in the trees to booting the steepness with crampons, they do it all. 5 out of 5 would reccomend.
