I’ll preface this review that breaking in new boots has never gone well for me. Never. Always pain somehow. So these felt really good to start.... they feel secure, and really stiff which I need for control of turns. I had no foot aches or cramps, which was a first! So that’s a plus. The BOAs were really fast, and didn’t feel like they loosened while riding too much at all. The biggest down side was within two hours I had two large blisters form on the inside of my heel. Never went raw from a boot, I’ve only experienced cramping. Not sure how to feel. Obviously I need to troubleshoot different socks, tape, layers to control sweat and friction. Besides it causing my heel to rub raw, it felt good.. so I’m a little sad.

Bought these midsummer so haven’t had a chance to ride in them yet, but boy do they look and feel good walking around my house. I love the customizable fit with the double boa. I have bigger calves so it’s always been hard to get boots tight enough in the heel and lose enough in the leg, but no problems here. Also love the customizable heel fit system. They’re nice and stiff with just a bit of flex. Can’t wait to see what they feel like on the hill in a few months.
Tried them on at the store and they fit perfectly. Took them out touring and the L bumps on the ankle rubbed and gave me some blisters. When skinning, I have a problem with the blisters on the sides of my heels off and on, but I also haven't really been giving my heels a chance to heal. Athletic tape also seems to do a good job of preventing this. Overall the boot is stiff and is taller than my old boots which seems to provide more support. My old boots were basically slippers, so I noticed that even my edges hold better while skinning and while riding it is so much easier to turn. I love the double boas for touring because my hands get too cold to readjust laces. I have put about 20 miles on the boots and I haven't had to break out the heel hold inserts yet.
