Love my ZB-1's so far. Possibly the most comfortable boot I've had the pleasure of riding in. Barely feels like wearing performance gear at all. Except they absolutely do perform. A bit softer than I expected flex wise. These will serve your freestyle ambitions well. Not so much for hard charging but you already knew that shopping a med flex boot.
They LOOK amazing. Feel like a kid with the new Jordan's on the first day school every time I strut into the lodge. Build quality is high as I've come to expect from 32. I LOVE the big velcro straps for the upper. Feel like I can really dial in the fit on my legs better than double boa's.
Biggest negatives IMO are these
- The toe velcro strap would be 100% better functionally if it was designed the same as the upper straps. It does serve to tighten up the toe box as is but if that strap also had a pass through that could be wrenched down it would be a big improvement. Also worth mentioning that this toe strap can get snagged when paired with FASE bindings.
- The top exterior of the toe box scuffs/tears quite easily. Don't expect these to look pristine after your first day. So long as you aren't saving them for the next guy this isn't the worst as it seems mostly cosmetic.
Overall I would recommend these boots and am happy I picked them up.
